MOSCOW, 11 July (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko is in Yekaterinburg on a visit on 11-14 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The goal of the visit is to take part in the third joint meeting of the Business Cooperation Council between Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia and to attend the 8th international industrial expo Innoprom 2017.
Vladimir Semashko is set to meet with Acting Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast Yevgeny Kuivashev to discuss the topical issues of bilateral cooperation and review the promising areas of cooperation.
The third meeting of the Business Cooperation Council between Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia will be held on 12 July. It will take stock of bilateral cooperation in 2016 - H1 2017 and identify the promising avenues of cooperation. Particular attention will be given to partnership in industry, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and culture. A contract will be signed between the Ural Turbine Works and Belnipienergoprom to upgrade the energy system of Belarus.
The Belarusian delegation is scheduled to visit a number of industrial enterprises and cultural institutions of Sverdlovsk Oblast to discuss the expansion of cooperation with Belarusian partners.
In January-May 2017 the trade between Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia totaled $129.5 million, up 21.4% from the same period a year earlier.
