MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Belarusian products will be on display during the International Engineering & Machinery Asia (IEMA) expo in Lahore, Pakistan on 26-28 September, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Pakistan told BelTA.

The Belarusian delegation will include representatives of industrial companies and organizations run by the Industry Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the State Science and Technology Committee. Apart from that, visitors of the expo will be able to get familiar with Belarus’ tourism potential.

A Belarus-Pakistan business forum involving representatives of the business circles from Pakistan’s Punjab Province will take place in Lahore roughly in the same period.

The source said that the Belarusian exposition will be arranged in continuation of the agreements reached when Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at a recent SCO summit in Bishkek. The exposition will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Pakistan diplomatic relations. The anniversary has been marked this year.

The national exposition in Lahore and the organization of the Belarus-Pakistan business forum will allow considerably invigorating bilateral contacts in the economic sphere and will help promote Belarusian products and services onto the Pakistani market.

The International Engineering & Machinery Asia (IEMA) is the largest exhibition event in South Asia for demonstrating a broad range of industrial equipment and technologies in the area of oil and gas, energy industry and metallurgy, machine tool engineering and automobile engineering, electronics, digital technologies. The total area of the expo is close to 60,000m2. Over 200 participants demonstrated their products and services at the last year’s expo. It will be the first time Belarus participates in the expo.
