BELGRADE, 3 December (BelTA) – Belarusian companies have signed contracts worth $120 million in Serbia, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich after a Belarusian-Serbian business forum on 3 December.

The official said: “The total sum of the contracts that have been signed is roughly $120 million. We are talking about the export of Belarusian products. It is quite a good result because, unfortunately, our trade turnover is rather modest.”

Major contracts were signed in the petrochemical industry. OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno signed a $50 million agreement with a Serbian partner. Mineral Wax Plant reached an agreement on supplying $15 million worth of merchandise. Contracts for exporting Belarusian agricultural machines and trucks were traditionally signed. New avenues of cooperation were explored. OAO Molochny Mir signed a $3 million contract. Arrangements on selling woodworking industry products were also made.

Vladimir Ulakhovich believes there is a big potential for increasing Belarus-Serbia cooperation in several areas. “Woodworking, pharmaceutics, food, agribusiness, tourism, information technologies, and logistics – we can add a lot in every one of them,” the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted.
