Belarusian commodity exchange ready to ensure uninterrupted farm supplies to China

Belarusian commodity exchange ready to ensure uninterrupted farm supplies to China

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange is ready to ensure uninterrupted supplies of Belarusian agricultural products to China, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of BUCE Andrei Novikov said during a meeting with representatives of the China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) which expressed interest in purchasing meat and other farm products via BUCE, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

"Our platform enables us to accumulate offers from Belarus’ largest agricultural producers. Thus, we can always provide the amount you need, and secondly, ensure rhythmic deliveries. In addition, BUCE controls the execution of all transactions, which means that the risk is minimal, compared with over-the-counter schemes," Andrei Novikov emphasized.

He also noted that since CAMCE is the largest shareholder of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. This opens up broad prospects for cooperation in terms of logistics. "Given the infrastructure and location, Great Stone could become an ideal logistics hub for containerized cargo sold to China via BUCE. First of all, these are lumber, rapeseed oil, milk powder, meat and flaxseed fiber. All these commodities are in great demand in the Chinese market," Andrei Novikov is sure.

For his part, the deputy head of the CAMCE representative office in Belarus confirmed the corporation's readiness to develop cooperation with BUCE in terms of beef purchases and other agricultural goods in the future. "In 2021, our subsidiary purchased $4 million worth of beef in Belarus. This year we would like to increase purchases, including via BUCE. We are interested not only in meat but also in other agricultural products made in Belarus. We are set to expand the range of suppliers with the help of BUCE and conclude transactions on more favorable terms than under direct contracts. As for your proposal on logistics, we will also work it out in detail and will give feedback in the near future," the CAMCE representative assured.

China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) is an incorporated company affiliated to China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH). It was established in May 2001. CAMCE has nine large subsidiaries, more than 30 branches in China and 60 abroad.
