MOSCOW, 8 December (BelTA) – The official opening ceremony of the office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) in Sverdlovsk Oblast took place in Yekaterinburg, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.
“Ivan Bulavin, a well-known businessman and philanthropist, has been appointed as the representative of the BelCCI. The opening ceremony was attended by members of the regional and municipal administrations and other officials, representatives of the business community and the Belarusian diaspora, representatives of the diplomatic corps,” the press service said.
According to Head of the Yekaterinburg Office of the Belarusian embassy in the Russian Federation Sergei Chichuk, the office is to coordinate efforts to develop social, trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural contacts between Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast, to strengthen ties between the chambers of commerce and industry of this region and Belarus.
“The office will promote Belarusian goods in Sverdlovsk Oblast. If the decision to open such an office proves to be right, such an initiative will be expanded into the neighboring Russian regions in the future,” the embassy added.
