MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Made in Belarus expo has debuted at Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2019 which is running in Bulawayo from 23 to 27 April, BelTA learned from Anastasia Vorokh, a specialist of the foreign exhibitions department with Belinterexpo at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Belarusian exhibition features BelAZ producer of rock haulers, Minsk Tractor Works, Sohra maintenance company, Chefi producer of first-aid kits and medical products, and also the information stand about the economic potential of Belarus. On 23 April it was visited by Minister of Industry and Commerce Mangaliso Ndlovu of Zimbabwe. He was taken on a 3D tour of BelAZ plant with the use of VR glasses to get familiar with the manufacturing process of rock haulers from the very start to the shipment to customers.
“BelAZ is exhibiting the mining trucks that can transport heavy rocks from deep mines and quarries and is capable of operating in different climatic conditions: from -50°C to +50°C. BelAZ is running the presentations of trucks with payload capacity of 55 tonnes and 130 tonnes, front-end loaders BelAZ-78221 and all-wheel bulldozer BelAZ-78231 intended for mechanization of loading, digging and excavation operations in open quarries, and also water sprinkling vehicle BelAZ-76473 to water open pits. As from 2014 Zimbabwe has been one of the most promising markets for BelAZ. In 2017 it delivered 52 BelAZ vehicles, which was one of the biggest annual shipments sold to a non-CIS country,” Anastasia Vorokh noted.
Minsk Tractor Works is showcasing BELARUS tractors for agricultural and municipal purposes. The company has been actively cooperating with Africa taking into account the rapid development of the agricultural sector in the region. In 2018, the company signed a big contract with Zimbabwean partners.
Taking part in the exposition is the group of companies Sohra, a maintenance contractor and supplier of Belarusian mining machinery, trucks, tractors, special-purpose machinery and other products to Africa.
Medical products, first-aid kits for vehicles and general use are displayed by the Belarusian producer Chefi.
The exposition of Belarusian producers has been organized as part of a business visit to Zimbabwe organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI). The Belarusian delegation is led by BelCCI Deputy Chairman Andrei Shakhanovich. The Belarusian delegation is set to hold meetings with representatives of the government bodies of Zimbabwe. The program will also include a bilateral business forum.
“Today Zimbabwe is viewed as an important partner for Belarus in the South-African region. In line with the agreements reached between the presidents of Belarus and Zimbabwe the two countries plan to bolster ties in such areas as mining industry, agriculture, energy, including highways and railroad, construction, transport and logistics. In 2018, the two states signed big supply contracts,” Anastasia Vorokh said.
The exposition of Belarusian producers Made in Belarus has been organized by Belinterexpo Company at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in the Republic of South Africa.
Zimbabwe International Trade Fair is one of the biggest exhibitions in the South-African region. In 2019, the exhibition has gathered 435 companies from 15 states. Belarus, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Japan, and the United States have arranged national pavilions.
