Belarusian biotechnology firm to reach full capacity for fodder, amino acids in September

Belarusian biotechnology firm to reach full capacity for fodder, amino acids in September

PUKHOVICHI DISTRICT, 27 July (BelTA) -  Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC) will reach its full capacity for mixed fodder and amino acids in September, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats told the media during a visit to the corporation, BelTA learned.

"Starting in September, the corporation will reach full capacity. There were certain hiccups in the commissioning of the facility. The government decided to postpone the launch of some facilities until the end of this year," Leonid Zayats noted.

Since 1 July, BNBC started to ramp up the production of mixed fodder and amino acids. Being an export-oriented company, BNBC actively cooperates with foreign buyers, in particular the Russian Federation. "Close work is underway with Russia on mixed fodder. Contracts have been concluded for 109,000 tonnes of mixed fodder, or about $218 million. Now we are negotiating the supply of mixed fodder for pigs and poultry to keep our companies busy, meet the domestic needs and fulfill foreign contracts," he said.

According to the vice premier, contracts for 127,000 tonnes  have been signed in the domestic market. Additional agreements for 95,000 tonnes will be concluded soon which will bring the total to more than 220,000 tonnes of products. One fifth of the fodder will be sold domestically and the rest will be exported. "BNBC was built thanks to the initiative of the head of state and his close friendship with the president of the People's Republic of China. We see that this is the unique enterprise, which will fully meet the needs of the Belarusian livestock industry in imported products such as amino acids, premixes and other", Leonid Zayats noted.

The investment project "Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation" envisions the launch of a facility for deep processing of grain by 2032 using modern methods of biotechnology and obtaining essential amino acids for the production of high-yield balanced mixed fodder and premixes.
