MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – The expansion of direct shipments to the UK market of woodworking products and the establishment of a proprietary distributor of products of Belarusian woodworking companies in the UK are under consideration in the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom as the head of a British woodworking company is visiting a number of Bellesbumprom enterprises, BelTA has learned.

Over the course of one week the representative of the British company will visit Bellesbumprom enterprises that make plywood, fiberboards, and chipboards, and laminated flooring. The British businessperson will also meet with top officials of Bellesbumprom, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), and the National Marketing Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Bellesbumprom press service, Bellesbumprom companies already operate on the UK market and gradually increase their sales. They exported $1.44 million worth of goods to the UK in 2020, twice as much as in 2019. Plywood, fiberboards, sawn timber, paper and pasteboard, furniture, and prefabricated structures made of wood were sold. An analysis of the British market and capabilities of Bellesbumprom companies indicates that more Belarusian woodworking products can be sold in the UK.

Bellesbumprom with assistance of the Belarusian embassy in the UK is now considering creating a proprietary distributor in the UK to sell Belarusian woodworking products. The visit of the representative of the British company to Belarus is one of the steps in this process.
