MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – Trials of a 60-tonne dump truck made by the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ and equipped with an engine that meets European emission standards Stage 5 took place in Poland, BelAZ’s press service told BelTA.

The BelAZ-7551I truck is powered by a 16-liter Volvo Penta TWD1683VE engine with the power capacity of nearly 800hp (585kW) that meets the European emission standards Stage 5. In the course of the trials the truck demonstrated excellent performance, power, economy, and reliability results. The trials took place in an open pit of Ozarov Group, one of the largest European producers of road metal and cement.

BelAZ expects the new truck to sell well since consumers in Europe and other areas show a strong demand for such trucks. In particular, Ozarov Group is considering buying another truck of the kind from the Belarusian company in 2020.

The new emissions standards Stage 5 are considerably stricter than the existing norms designed to limit the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the holding company BelAZ. BelAZ is the world's leading manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for mining industry and civil engineering industry. BelAZ accounts for some 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world’s largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
