MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ will deliver 18 haul trucks to Chile. It will be the largest vehicle shipment to the region recently, the company’s press service told BelTA.
It will be the first time Chile will get haul trucks BelAZ-7531C with the carrying capacity of 240 tonnes, BelAZ-7513 with the carrying capacity of 136 tonnes, and BelAZ-75320 with the carrying capacity of 290 tonnes.
The Belarusian trucks are specifically designed to work in high mountainous areas. The BelAZ-7531C truck is fitted with a two-stage turbocharge Cummins QSK 60-C engine. The General Electric transmission uses increased-capacity electrodynamic brakes – 3,000kW. The safety of the trucks has been improved: the framework can be fitted with an easily removable protective buffer, an elongated canopy and diagonal ladders have been installed. The driver’s cab boasts a new climate control unit with an air conditioner and a heater as well as an LCD display.
The BelAZ-75320 truck is powered by a Cummins QSK-60-C engine with the output capacity of 2,850hp and an alternating-current transmission from General Electric. The BelAZ-7513 truck boasts a 1,300hp Cummins QSK-45-C engine and an alternating-current transmission from General Electric. The main features include options that improve the operating appeal of the trucks: a remotely controlled fire extinguishing system, a tire pressure control system, load control and fuel control systems, a video surveillance system, and a high-voltage power line proximity alarm.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the holding company BelAZ. BelAZ is the world's largest manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for the mining industry and the civil engineering industry. BelAZ accounts for some 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world's largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
