Belarusian Amkodor testing new forwarder

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – A new Amkodor FF1681 forwarder (a self-loading shortwood forwarder) is being tested in the field in a forestry enterprise in Minsk District, the press service of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor told BelTA.

According to the source, scheduled tests of the harvester prototype Amkodor FH3081 continue in Minsk District. Another new machine has joined it – an Amkodor FF1681 forwarder. The latter is supposed to load up on the shortwood the harvester collects and transport it from the forest to a storage site.

The forwarder is an innovative heavy machine that boasts increased performance. Amkodor FF1681 is primarily designed for forest harvesting operations in Russia.

The Amkodor FF1681’s back plate can be adjusted to better accommodate the logs it transports and distribute the load on the wheels. The cargo box can be expanded by 0.6m for transporting shortwood.

The Amkodor FF1681 forwarder can easily transport over 20m3 of wood. It is also equipped with a winch, which pull the vehicle out of difficult situations. The driver has not had a chance to use it yet during the current winter season of timber harvesting. The vehicle implements Amkodor’s best technical solutions while all the systems of the forwarder are controlled by electronics. The electronics will be tuned and optimized in the course of the field trials.

Later on the machine will be trialed in Russian forests.
