MOSCOW, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi held a number of meetings with the heads of the regions of the Russian Far East on the sidelines of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The talks highlighted supplies of Belarusian agricultural products and machinery, opening of service and distribution centers, multi-brand sites, promising infrastructure and cooperation projects, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.
The meeting with Governor of Magadan Oblast Sergey Nosov focused on the development of a single center of Belarusian machinery, primarily BelAZ haul trucks, in the Russian region. Dmitry Krutoi congratulated Sergey Nosov on his victory in the recent gubernatorial election and invited him to visit Belarus.
At the meeting with Governor of Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, which was also attended by Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, the parties praised a significant growth of mutual trade, which has been recently doubling annually, exceeding $50 million in 2022. In H1 2023, the trade between Belarus and Primorye Territory almost reached the level of the 2022.
“The parties also discussed the supply of Belarusian machinery and the development of the relevant service infrastructure in Primorye, the use of the region's port facilities to build new logistics for Belarusian exports, the development of multi-brand centers of domestic goods. The ambassador and the governor agreed to continue building up economic cooperation,” the press service said.
Oleg Kozhemyako, on behalf of all the residents of Primorye Territory, thanked the Belarusian people for their timely assistance during the flood: some 72 tonnes of Belarusian humanitarian cargo has already been delivered to the region.
The issues of expanding the supply of the entire lineup of vehicles produced in Belarus - from trucks to municipal and passenger vehicles, as well as the use of appropriate instruments of financial support were discussed at the talks with First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Amur Region Tatyana Polovaikina. “The parties also discussed the ways to increase supplies of Belarusian food. It is well-known and loved in the region (as well as in the entire Far East),” the press service said.
“The region, which is extracting minerals and implementing building projects (including the Vostochny Cosmodrome), surely needs Belarusian equipment. There is a demand for our elevators as well. Belarus considers the region as a logistics hub for the supply of products to China and back,” the diplomatic mission added.
During the forum Dmitry Krutoi also held a series of brief meetings. In particular, the progress in the implementation of previously reached agreements and the schedule of future contacts at various levels were discussed with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev.
