MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Vietnam are discussing prospects for expanding trade and economic ties. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dang Hoang An, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of leading Belarusian enterprises participating in the international exhibition Vietnam Expo.
“The parties discussed the prospects for expanding trade and economic relations, the progress made in the implementation of current bilateral projects, and also preparations for upcoming high-level visits,” the ministry said.
According to the Belarusian ministry of foreign affairs, the parties noted that there was a significant potential to intensify cooperation under the agreements reached during the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
As BelTA reported earlier, Vladimir Borovikov presented his credentials to Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The parties briefly discussed promising areas for the development of Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation, as well as the schedule of joint activities.
