MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Venezuela show interest in developing cooperation in tourism, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.
The Belarusian-Venezuelan working group on cooperation in tourism held a meeting. The Belarusian part of the working group was headed by Deputy Sportы and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik, the Venezuelan part was led by Vice Minister of International Tourism, President of Venetur Leticia Gomez. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Belarusian and Venezuelan tour operators.
The talks were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. The parties confirmed their interest in further development of cooperation in tourism. The participants of the meeting also exchanged information on the current state of affairs in the tourism sector of the two countries, revealed the interest of Belarusian tourists in visiting Venezuela, including the resort island of Margarita, Caracas and other sights, and of Venezuelan tourists in visiting Belarus. They are interested in Minsk, national parks, sanatoriums and resorts. The parties discussed the issue of mutual interest of Venezuelan and Belarusian tourists in visiting both countries as part of combined tours.
Despite the absence of direct flights between the two countries, there is an opportunity to use the Caracas-Moscow flight operated by the Venezuelan airline Conviasa to exchange tourist flows.
The parties agreed to continue exchanging experience, publications, professional information and explore further opportunities for cooperation in order to develop bilateral tourism ties.
The parties signed the minutes of the meeting of the Belarusian-Venezuelan working group on cooperation in tourism.
