Belarus-Uzbekistan trade up by 25.3% in Q1 2021

MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - In January-March 2021 the trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan amounted to $67.5 million, which was up by 25.3% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Embassy in Uzbekistan.

Belarusian exports increased by 37.4% to $58.7 million during this period, while imports of Uzbek goods rose by $8.8 million, or 79.2% over Q1 2020. Belarus had a surplus of $49.8 million in trade with Uzbekistan.

"In Q1 Belarus significantly increased chilled and frozen beef exports to Uzbekistan to more than $13 million. Belarus exported $1.5 million worth of medicines and more than $1.4 million worth of polymers. Belarus also stepped up supplies of tractors ($8.7 million) and trucks ($13.8 million) to Uzbekistan," the diplomatic mission said.
