MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik met with Deputy Prime Minister, Investment and Foreign Trade Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev, who is in Belarus on an official visit, BelTA has learned.
Piotr Parkhomchik and Jamshid Khodjayev discussed matters of cooperation with the Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ and the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturer BelAZ. In particular, BelAZ is ready to sell brand new vehicle models for transporting rock mass to Uzbekistan. The new models boast a low environmental impact and effectiveness. MTZ is also interested in exporting its products to Uzbekistan and is ready to organize assembly manufacturing, Piotr Parkhomchik said.
Apart from that, the deputy prime minister expressed interest in selling public electric transport to Uzbekistan.
Besides, close attention was paid to ways to increase woodworking industry export to Uzbekistan.
The Belarusian side also offered its capabilities for building houses out of laminated logs and frame-panel houses in tourism zones and recreation zones in Uzbekistan in addition to equipping houses with furniture of Belarusian make. “This avenue of cooperation looks very promising to us,” Piotr Parkhomchik stressed.
