MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ trade and economic potential was presented in Lima during a working visit of Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov to Peru, BelTA learned.
The Belarusian diplomat held talks with Peru’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Edgar Vasquez to discuss the status and prospects for boosting and diversifying bilateral trade. The parties noted the need to stimulate business activity of enterprises and private business of both countries.
A presentation of Belarus’ trade and economic potential was attended by Juan Antonio Morales, head of foreign trade at the Chamber of Commerce of Lima. The parties discussed the ways of intensifying business contacts, including with the assistance of the Chambers of Commerce.
Evgeny Shestakov met with Luz Salgado, the chairperson of the Commission on International Affairs at the National Congress of Peru, to consider establishing sustainable Belarusian-Peruvian inter-parliamentary contacts. This will contribute to the development of bilateral political, trade, economic and cultural cooperation.
During the talks with Lima's Mayor Luis Castaneda Lossio the parties examined the prospects for cooperation between the capitals of Belarus and Peru. The Belarusian party laid out its capabilities in passenger transportation, including in the context of the benefits and prospects for the use of electric transport vehicles in urban environment.
