MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Evdochenko held a meeting with Antonio Somma, Head of the Eurasia Competitiveness Program of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the OECD, an important international organization that provides its platform for holding multilateral talks on a wide range of economic issues. The parties also talked over Belarus’ participation in the Eurasia Week 2016 which is due to take place in the OECD headquarters in Paris on 22-24 November.
The first collective expert assessment of Belarus highlighting the enhancement of professional skills of SMEs via business promotion services will be held as part of the OECD Eurasia Week. “This assessment will work out useful recommendations on entrepreneurship development in Belarus and improve the competitive edge of the national economy,” the press service said.
According to the ministry, Belarus has been efficiently cooperating with the OECD on the areas of mutual interest, including competitive growth, transport, environmental protection, taxation and fight against corruption.
