MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Representatives of the National Cadastral Agency of the State Property Committee and Belarus’ Tax and Duties Ministry will study the experience of Sweden in real estate taxation. Belarusian specialists are visiting the Swedish Tax Agency Skatteverket in Gothenburg on 1-8 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Property Committee.
The Belarusian specialists will get acquainted with system approaches to the real estate taxation in Sweden, functions and role of the Swedish tax service including the cadastral evaluation of real estate property, procedures and stages of the taxation process of real estate property, appeal and contestation of the cadastral evaluation in Sweden as well as the system of tax control in real estate property.
Modern R&D and IT solutions, the details of Swedish legislation in legal regulation of taxation and cadastral evaluation of real estate property will also be presented.
The visit of the Belarusian specialists to the Swedish colleagues is not the first one. The previous meeting took place in spring 2017 and was aimed at adopting the Swedish best practices in data collection about property and its appraisal. All in all, Belarus and Sweden have been cooperating for over 15 years. During these years the countries have successfully implemented five joint projects.
The working visit is organized within the joint Belarus-Sweden project "Improving land management and urban development in the Republic of Belarus" funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The project participants are the public organization Land Reform, the Swedish National Administration for Cartography, Cadastre and Land Registration, Belarus’ State Property Committee through its National Cadastral Agency, Belarus’ Tax and Duties Ministry and the Belarusian Research Institute of Urban Development.
