MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Belarus will receive the sixth tranche of the $200m loan from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) in the nearest future, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a session in Minsk on 22 September, BelTA has learned.
The head of state noted that during the Belarus-Russia talks in Sochi on 21 September, the parties discussed the entire spectrum of financial matters. The president recalled that several years ago an arrangement had been reached to provide Belarus with EFSD loans to the total amount of $2 billion.
“We have received five tranches. The sixth and the seventh tranches are left. I do not see any problems with providing the sixth tranche. As it was already stated, the seventh tranche can also be negotiated. Everything depends on how, first of all, Belarus will act in this regard. I think, this matter can be settled. Belarus will get the sixth tranche in the near future. The seventh tranche depends on the activities of the Belarusian government members, first of all,” the Belarusian leader said.
