MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – Belarus will present a national exposition at the China International Import Expo 2023 (CIIE) in Shanghai in November, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

Every year on 5-10 November, Shanghai becomes the center-stage of China’s most significant import fair. It is also the biggest showcase event of this kind in the world. The exhibition will be held under the patronage of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Belarus’ national exposition is co-organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Belinterexpo jointly with ministries and government agencies of the country.

“It is important to note that after China removed all domestic travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic on 8 January 2023, the expo will resume the offline format after a three-year break. The expo will feature various thematic sections, including sections showcasing the automotive industry, high-tech equipment and information technology, medical equipment and medicines, consumer goods, trade in services, food and agricultural products,” Belinterexpo noted.

This year, Belarus has plans to put on display a large-scale exposition that will cut across various sectors of the domestic economy. In particular, the national pavilion and collective expositions will be installed in specialized commercial pavilions, such as Consumer Goods, Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products, Trade in Services, Food and Agricultural Products. In addition to that, Belarus’ delegation will have a busy business and cultural program.

Attending the expo will be representatives of all Chinese provinces, large, medium and small businesses of China, as well as professional participants and visitors from more than 120 countries.

“The participation of Belarusian companies in the China International Import Expo is of strategic importance, as it is seen as a great promotion tool for Belarusian exports. China, one of the world’s largest and most dynamically developing markets, offers an opportunity for Belarusian companies to expand their horizons and meet potential partners and buyers, including from Chinese state corporations,” Belinterexpo said.

An extensive business and cultural program is planned on the sidelines of the expo, including the Belarus-China business forum and B2B negotiations. Belarusian participants will be able to take part in the forum and make presentations. More than 30 domestic companies have already expressed interest to take part in the CIIE as part of  Belarus’ national exposition.
