MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian embassy in France plans to hold a presentation of Belarus' trade and economic potential in Lyon, the embassy told BelTA following the meeting of Belarus’ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France Pavel Latushko with Deputy Director for Russia and Eastern Europe at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Martin de Lagarde.
The embassy plans to hold the presentation in cooperation with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lyon.
“A Belarusian delegation is expected to visit Lyon on 25-26 January. The delegation will comprise representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Hall, the National Investment Agency, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and companies,” the embassy said.
The meeting on 22 January highlighted the preparations for the 2nd meeting of the joint Belarusian-French commission on economic cooperation and the 2nd Belarusian-French Business Forum which are due in March 2016. The parties also discussed the issues related to the development of the legal framework for Belarus-France cooperation in transport and environmental protection.
Besides, Pavel Latushko and Martin de Lagarde talked over possible areas of cooperation between Belarus and France within the United Nations Organization. The Belarusian diplomat informed the French side on the Belarusian Theater Seasons and the Belarusian Music Seasons to be held as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in France in 2016.
