MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus will present current products and promising defense prototypes at the 14th international defense technology expo IDEX 2019, which is due in Abu Dhabi, UAE on 17-21 February, the press service of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
The Belarusian delegation will be led by Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee Roman Golovchenko. There are plans to hold meetings and negotiations on the sidelines of the expo with top officers of the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, top officials of the Egyptian defense industry, heads of a number of foreign companies to discuss the implementation of current projects and future ones in the area of military technology cooperation.
Belarusian defense products at IDEX 2019 will include innovative solutions in the area of development and production of automated systems for commanding troops and controlling weapons on the tactical level. Belarusian companies also intend to demonstrate conventional weapons, flying drones, optic and optic-electronic devices, cutting-edge radio location and radio warfare systems, including systems designed to fight flying drones. The products on display will also include communications systems, multipurpose mobile solutions, including wheeled and tracked lightly armored vehicles.
The Belarusian exposition will be organized by the defense technology exporter ZAO BelTechExport. The Belarusian company MZKT will present the tank transporter MZKT-741351 with the trailer MZKT-999421 carrying combat vehicles (a Leclerc tank and a BMP-3). The engineering company Display will present the latest products in the series of combat modules ADUNOK. OAO AGAT – Control Systems, the managing company of the holding company Geoinformation Control Systems will present new radio communications systems – the radio relay station Sosna-2 and the tropospheric communications station Horizont. The holding company BelOMO will demonstrate Zorki, a promising solution for ground and aerial situation surveillance using optic-electronic and radio location technologies. Zorki allows detecting small unmanned aerial vehicles of the Phantom 3 quadcopter type as far as about 3km.
The participation of Belarusian companies in the 14th international defense technology expo IDEX 2019 represents an important link in Belarus-UAE military technology cooperation system. In addition to enabling favorable conditions for the future development of Belarus-UAE military and technical cooperation it will have a positive effect on the expansion of business contacts, including with countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. It also offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the scientific and innovative potential of the leading Belarusian defense contractors, expand the circle of partners, assess competition in the region for the sake of accomplishing a broad spectrum of marketing goals in the future, the press service of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
