MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – In line with the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 436 as of 1 July 2019, Belarus will join the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). The resolution was officially posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on 26 July, BelTA has learned.
In order to ensure effective cooperation of the Finance Ministry with the International Organisation of Securities Commissions, the Council of Ministers consented to the ministry’s proposal on joining the organization as an associate member.
According to the resolution, the money for the annual membership contribution the Finance Ministry will have to pay can be provided by the national budget in line with the law on the national budget for the corresponding financial year.
The International Organisation of Securities Commissions is an association of organisations that regulate the world’s securities and futures markets. The organization is headquartered in Madrid. As of May 2019, IOSCO had 225 members. IOSCO’s members regulate more than 95% of the world's securities markets.
