Belarus to install 86 super-fast EV charging stations by 2030

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – A total of 86 super-fast charging stations for electric vehicles are planned to be installed in Belarus by 2030, Aleksandr Lyakhov, Belorusneft Director General, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, told BelTA sharing plans to expand the network of charging infrastructure.

Belorusneft was designated as the national operator of the country’s charging infrastructure. The oil company has long been firmly associated with the development of electric vehicles and is steadily expanding its network of charging stations under the Malanka brand.

“Today, owners of electric cars can use 646 charging stations and one super-fast charging complex in Minsk where they can recharge a battery to a 300 km driving range in 9 minutes. By the end of this year, the number of stations will increase to 700. Meanwhile, new super-fast charging stations are being developed. They will embrace top-notch solutions in this field. By 2030, the number of such complexes will reach 86, while the charging speed will be comparable with that of refueling a car with gasoline at a traditional gas station,” said Aleksandr Lyakhov.

In May, the solutions used to create the company’s charging infrastructure were praised at the highest level, and the Malanka charging network was recognized as the best EAEU project in the field of low-carbon transport.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in exploration, prospecting, and development of oil fields, well drilling, extraction of oil and associated petroleum gas. Belorusneft also offers oil industry services in other countries.
