Belarus to develop sector of 3PL providers

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) - Belarus plans to develop a sector of logistics operators of a higher level, Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko said in an interview to the newspaper SB. Belarus Segodnya, BelTA has learned.

When asked about how Belarus plans to expand the functionality and complexity of logistics centers, the minister said that there are several promising areas of work. “First of all, it is the development of a sector of logistics operators of a higher level (3PL providers) - organizations that provide integrated services to customers. It is assumed that these companies will be involved in the system of exchange and electronic trade in foreign economic activities and in organizing deliveries of export and import cargoes of Belarus,” said Aleksei Avramenko.

According to the head of the department, plans are in place to expand electronic document management, including the development of an online platform of the National System of Electronic Logistics. “Secondly, it is advisable to expand the specialization and increase the number of customs clearance points in logistics centers, including the transition to remote and contactless forms of declaration. There are also plans to develop a national universal standard for good distribution practices (wholesale trade) in logistics supply chains and certification for compliance with the established requirements,” the minister said.
