MOSCOW, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarus is determined to expand and diversify its exports to Ghana. The matter was discussed at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Russian Federation Kodzo Kpoku Alabo in Moscow on 22 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy.
The diplomats discussed ways to step up the bilateral political dialogue, expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and develop a full-fledged legal framework for cooperation. “In the focus were plans to expand and diversify the supplies of Belarusian products to Ghana and to arrange more visits as part of the efforts to intensify the bilateral cooperation,” the press service noted.
Belarus and Ghana established diplomatic relations on 5 June 1992. The bilateral trade was estimated at $35.2 million in 2013. Kodzo Kpoku Alabo is going to be appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ghana to Belarus with residence in Moscow.
