MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarus plans to submit its bid to host the 31st Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers in 2018. The matter was discussed at a government meeting attended by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
The meeting discussed the issues related to the preparation of a video presentation for the country’s bid to host the Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers in 2018. “The developed concept for the video presentation is aimed at demonstrating Belarus as a space power, the achievements of the Belarusian science in space activities, the participation of Belarusian nationals in the outer space exploration and also the readiness of the Belarusian infrastructure to host the 31st Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers,” the press service said.
Taking part in the meeting were representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Information Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the State Military Technical Committee, Belteleradiocompany, and also Head of the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics, pilot-cosmonaut Vladimir Kovalenok.
The venue for the 31st congress will be announced in Toulouse, France in March 2017.
