Belarus to allow cryptocurrency transactions as from 28 March  

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Transactions with tokens (cryptocurrency) will be allowed in Belarus as from 28 March 2018, BelTA learned from the website of the Hi-Tech Park (HTP).

The HTP administration recalled that Ordinance No.8 on digital economy development comes into force on 28 March 2018.

Thus, legal entities and individuals cannot carry out the token-related activities mentioned in clause 3 of the provision on HTP till 28 March. They include the operation of cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms and other token-related activities, including professional and exchange activities with securities, investment fund operation, securitization, and operations to make and distribute proprietary tokens.

Only those commercial entities registered as HTP resident companies will be allowed to engage in token-related activities after 28 March.
