MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – The national taxation system in Belarus is balanced. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement as he presented the government’s action program for 2016-2020 in the parliament on 5 April, BelTA has learned.
“The tax burden in Belarus is close to 26-27%. We believe it is quite optimal,” said Andrei Kobyakov. The Prime Minister mentioned that the tax burden exceeded 30% in the past at times.
Meanwhile, according to the Prime Minister, the current taxation system in Belarus is a standard one and includes the commonly accepted taxes that exist in the Eurasian Economic Union member states. “We believe that we’ve achieved certain balance in this regard. Although it doesn’t mean the system should be absolutely frozen and cannot change,” he added.
Speaking about the optimal volume of money supply, Andrei Kobyakov noted it should match the economic situation.
