MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarusian products are on display at the 23rd edition of the Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition (FoodExpo Qazaqstan), a major exhibition and congress event in the field of agriculture and food. The exhibition opened in Almaty on 3 November, BelTA learned from the BelInterExpo enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).
Belarus’ national pavilion features domestic meat and dairy producers. “Visitors can see a broad assortment of sausages, delicacies, smoked meats, products from offal. Among the new products on display are beef sausages with prunes, smoked tartar on beech chips and other products. Belarus’ biggest dairy companies showcase a wide range of whole milk products, cheeses, powdered milk products, ice cream, butter, mayonnaise, drinks, canned powdered milk, condensed milk and other products,” BelInterExpo informed.
The opening ceremony of the national pavilion was attended by Belarus’ First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Rustem Kurmanov, Ambassador of Belarus to Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin, BelInterExpo Director Yevgeny Vvedensky.
Igor Brylo pointed to the importance of the country's participation in the expo. “Kazakhstan is one of our major markets. It is the third biggest buyer of Belarusian products after the Russian Federation and China. Therefore, this region is very important for us. We are interested not only in the export of Belarusian products, but also in the import of goods from Kazakhstan,” he said.
The national exposition of Belarus was arranged by the BelCCI, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Council, the BelInterExpo exhibition company.
The Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition (FoodExpo Qazaqstan) is Central Asia’s only industry-specific expo that brings together technology and equipment suppliers and producers, distributors and retailers of foodstuffs. Exhibitors present their products across all segments of the food industry: from production lines and equipment to a wide range of ready-to-eat foods and beverages, like confectionery, dairy and meat products, groceries, tea and coffee, as well as food additives and spices. The event is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the Almaty Administration, industry unions and associations.
Taking part in FoodExpo Qazaqstan are 421 companies from 26 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, the Czech Republic. National expositions are represented by Belarus, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the USA, the Republic of Korea, as well as more than 25 regions of the Russian Federation.
The exhibition will run through 5 November.
