MOSCOW, 23 January (BelTA) – A modern agro-town is being developed in Korsakovsky state farm at Razdolnoye village, Sakhalin with the participation of Belarus. The agro-town will feature a dairy farm and housing for workers, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.
The construction of the future commercial dairy farm is underway. It will include premises for loose housing dairy cows, the growing stock, milking machines, a hay shed, a storage yard for equipment, waste treatment facilities.
Once the designed capacity is reached, the farm will be able to increase its dairy herd to 2,500 head. The Korsakovsky state farm will produce nearly 8,000 tonnes of milk a year. A processing facility will be needed. Its designing is under consideration.
Individual housing for workers of the future dairy farm is also under construction in Razdolnoye village. 50 houses are planned for construction. A part of them will be built using Belarusian design projects.
