MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Tajikistan will promote trade and economic interests in cooperation with Afghanistan. A relevant agreement was reached during the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Tajikistan Oleg Ivanov and Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Keeping in mind the well-established relations between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, Oleg Ivanov suggested developing cooperation in a trilateral format, Belarus-Tajikistan-Afghanistan, and promoting trade and economic interests. Qohir Rasulzoda supported the idea.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of Belarus-Tajikistan cooperation. “The Tajikistan Prime Minister expressed interest in establishing industrial cooperation and confirmed his readiness to provide the necessary assistance in the implementation of joint projects,” the press service added.
Special attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation and matters related to the organization of the next meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Tajik commission for trade and economic cooperation. Oleg Ivanov and Qohir Rasulzoda also talked over the prospects of concluding a number of interstate agreements on education and regional cooperation.
