Belarus, Tajikistan seek to increase mutual trade in agricultural products

MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Makhmadsharif Khakdod on 17 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry. 

“The parties discussed further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, in particular the ways to increase mutual trade, expand the range of supplied agricultural goods, intensify cooperation in livestock breeding and agricultural education. They also considered issues related to the preparation for a meeting of the joint working group scheduled to take place during the international exhibition Belagro 2022,” the ministry said. 

In 2021, the trade between Belarus and Tajikistan went up 12.6% to total $126.1 million. The export of agricultural products grew by 11.2% to $10.6 million.
