MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Türkiye will reach a record high trade by the end of the year, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said in an interview to ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We have a strategic task, set by the heads of state - the presidents of Belarus and Türkiye in April 2019 during the official visit of the Belarusian president to this country. This is the task to reach the trade of $1.5 billion and reduce the foreign trade imbalance,” Sergei Aleinik said.
We have already approached this figure, the minister noted. “In the past two years our trade has exceeded $1 billion, but this year we expect to reach the record-high figures. According to the Turkish statistics, the trade amounted to $1.6 billion in January-October 2023. By the end of the year we will reach the record-high trade. The strategic task set by the heads of state will be fulfilled,” he emphasized.
