MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to supply halal products to Tajikistan, Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said at the meeting of the Belarus-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.
“We are ready to increase the export of Belarusian products to Tajikistan, including halal certified products. We have done a lot of work to obtain the necessary certificates. Our products have been certified by a reputable halal company in the UAE, and now we can supply our products to Muslim countries,” the minister said.
He also suggested increasing the supply of Belarusian pedigree cattle and highly productive, balanced feed and mixtures to Tajikistan.
“Against the backdrop of growing instability in the world, we need to step up trade and economic cooperation. Our country is interested in supply mining and construction equipment from such manufacturers as BelAZ and MAZ to Tajikistan. We would also like to continue shipping Belkommunmash passenger vehicles to Tajikistan to renew the country’s urban transport fleet,” Igor Brylo emphasized.
According to the agriculture and food minister, Belarus would like to expand cooperation with Tajikistan: “I am convinced that we have reserves to increase mutual deliveries of goods.”
At the end of the meeting, the ministries of the two countries signed a basic agreement on export loans for Belarusian supplies. The agreement was signed between the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the State Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan Amonatbonk.
In 2021, the trade between Belarus and Tajikistan exceeded $126 million, up 12.6% over 2020, while the export was estimated at over $122 million, an increase of 11.1%.
