MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) - Belarus will work on the supply of dairy products to Sudan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Belarus Mohammed Omer Musa Ali. The parties discussed ways to intensify work within the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the countries in agriculture, signed in 2016. The parties agreed to form a Belarusian group to visit Sudan to discuss supplies of Belarusian dairy products and imports from Sudan.

Sudan's main crops are sugarcane, sorghum, peanuts, and millet. The country specializes in the production and export of gum arabic (a solid transparent resin composed of dried sap of various types of acacia; used in the production of glue, candy and pharmaceuticals). The country is the world leader in the export of this product. Livestock is also one of the important sectors of agriculture in Sudan.

In 2021 Belarus exported tractors, parts and accessories for vehicles and tractors, various types of instruments and equipment to Sudan.
