Belarus, Sudan mull over joint construction of dairy farms

Photo from the archiveMINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Sudan plan the joint construction of dairy farms, BelTA learned from head of the main department of foreign economic activities of Belarus' Agriculture and Food Ministry Aleksei Bogdanov.

Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats met with the Sudanese delegation on 28 August. “Two memorandums on cooperation were signed during the visit to Sudan. Today we have met with the Sudanese minister of petroleum and gas to discuss the projects we agreed upon. This is the transfer of Belarusian technologies – a joint production of dairy farms, companies to produce and process beef. We have also suggested Sudan to buy Belarusian greenhouses,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.

The parties also discussed cooperation in growing fodder for the livestock, agricultural education and supplies of Belarusian dairy products, poultry and beef to Sudan. “Sudan will consider these proposals later,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.

The official delegation of Sudan is in Belarus on a visit through 31 August. The participants of the delegation are expected to meet with the chairpersons of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, ministers of industry, agriculture and food, energy, finances, construction and architecture, heads of the National Bank, the concerns Belneftekhim, Bellesbumprom, and Bellegprom, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Sudanese delegation will also get familiar with the achievements of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, hold talks with representatives of the scientific practical centers on agriculture and cattle breeding, visit MTZ, MAZ and BelAZ.
