MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary and Slovenia (with concurrent accreditation) Alexander Khainovsky and the leadership of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed the holding of the bilateral business forum in 2016, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting took place during the working trip of the Belarusian Ambassador to Slovenia. Apart from the business forum in 2016, the sides discussed a number of issues of the trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the 2016 plan of events. “Special attention was drawn to the need to expand and improve direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries,” the representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Economic issues were on the agenda of the meeting between Alexander Khainovsky and Director-General for Economic Diplomacy,of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, new co-chairman of the Belarus-Slovenia intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation Robert Kokalj. The Belarusian Ambassador and the Slovenian official discussed the preparations for the next session of this commission.
During the visit to Slovenia Alexander Khainovsky also met with political director, head of the Common Policy and Security Policy Department of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tomaz Lovrencic. The diplomats discussed the current state of affairs and the prospects of cooperation in regional organizations, the development of the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union. The sides agreed to continue cooperation for the further normalization of the Belarusian-European ties, reduction of the existing EU restrictions in relation to Belarus.
