MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia have plans to hold a business forum in Minsk in October. The matter was discussed during the visit of Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chair of Belarus-Slovakia commission for trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation Evgeny Shestakov to Slovakia on 12-13 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Evgeny Shestakov met with Rastislav Chovanec, 2nd State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and co-chair of the Belarus-Slovakia commission. The parties reviewed progress in implementing joint projects and the decisions of the previous session of the commission, scheduled another meeting of the commission and agreed to hold a bilateral business forum in Minsk in October.
Evgeny Shestakov also met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, co-chair of the joint intergovernmental commission for cooperation in science and technology Olga Nachtmannova. They discussed plans to hold the first competition of joint scientific and innovative projects and reviewed progress in harmonizing the draft bilateral intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
During the meeting with Pavol Sykorcin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the parties exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest. Evgeny Shestakov also met with Belarus’ Honorary Consul in Slovakia Marian Murin.
