BEIJING, 25 April (BelTA) – There are possibilities of increasing food supplies to China manifold in the coming years, Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko told the media on 25 April, BelTA has learned.
In his words, the Belarusian delegation held two fruitful meetings with counterparts from the China’s market regulator and customs agency. Agreements were reached to give access to the Chinese market for new Belarusian companies. “Belarusian companies can supply processed fish and dairy products. At present these are a total of 54 dairies and two meat packing plants,” the minister said.
According to him, the parties also coordinated possible supplies of chicken feet from five Belarusian poultry farms which have been accredited on the Chinese market. Apart from fodder additives and processed fish, the parties talked over the possibility to supply flour, honey and vegetables. Belarusian cosmetics are also popular in China.
“I can see that we are important for this market today. Our products have been tested and hailed. We may negotiate a considerable increase in the supplies of our products. Over the past two months we have exported $3.5 million worth of dairy products. This is several times higher that we had last year. In 2018, Belarus exported $82 million worth of food products to China,” Anatoly Khotko said.
