Belarus seeks to increase agricultural, dairy exports to Indonesia

MOSCOW, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Indonesia’s Ambassador to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Jose Antonio Morato Tavares in Moscow on 10 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

The parties exchanged views on issues of the bilateral agenda, interaction in the UN and regional organizations, and topical international issues. "This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Indonesia which the parties will celebrate on 18 June. Dmitry Krutoi and Jose Antonio Morato Tavares reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to more intensive development of cooperation in the political, economic, scientific, technological and other avenues. The parties are set to hold joint events to celebrate this event," the press service said.

The Belarusian ambassador welcomed the expansion in recent years of the range of goods in the Belarusian-Indonesian trade, the progress in the certification of halal products, standardization. "Belarus is ready to increase exports of agricultural goods, trucks, household appliances, dairy products and, in turn, is interested in further supplies from Indonesia of products that are not produced in our country - palm oil, natural rubber, cocoa, coffee, seafood," Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi said at the meeting.

In order to intensify mutual trade and facilitate the exchange of business visits, the parties agreed on joint steps to organize a bilateral business forum with the participation of Belarusian and Indonesian companies in Moscow in May 2023. Dmitry Krutoi invited Jose Antonio Morato Tavares and the minister of agriculture of Indonesia to visit the international agricultural exhibition Belagro in Minsk on 6-11 June.

"During the discussion of the multilateral agenda and international issues, the parties reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to building a just multipolar world order based on the principles of international law, respect and sovereign equality of states," the press service added.
