MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - Belarus seeks to deepen bilateral ties with Sudan, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to the Republic of Belarus Mohammed Omer Musa Ali, BelTA has learned.

Sudan and Belarus have warm relations, the deputy prime minister noted. "Belarus is ready to continue cooperation with Sudan in all promising areas of activity: industry, agriculture, energy, medicine, education," Leonid Zayats said.

The deputy prime minister also added that the states hold similar positions on many international and regional issues. "We provide mutual support to each other in international organizations and lend a helping hand to each other in difficult moments. We highly appreciate the current level of cooperation with Sudan and seek to deepen our bilateral ties," he said.

Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation has always been based on political support, openness, mutual respect and mutual economic interests, Leonid Zayats emphasized. "We are ready to intensify dialogue with our Sudanese friends, hold bilateral events and resume work on joint projects. I sincerely wish us successful and fruitful joint work, the results of which we can be proud of," he concluded.
