BRATISLAVA, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in strengthening cooperation with Slovakia, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov told the media after the talks with his Slovakian counterpart Robert Fico on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus views Slovakia as an important and promising partner in Europe and is also interested in the further strengthening of full-scale bilateral cooperation,” noted Andrei Kobyakov.
In his words, the current visit of the Belarusian delegation to Slovakia has become a good continuation of the dialogue that was launched in Minsk in November 2016 during the first official visit of Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico to Belarus. On 27 April the two heads of government discussed a wide range of issues related to the Belarusian-Slovak cooperation and agreed to continue the joint work on the implementation of the existing potential.
The same as during the previous meeting in Minsk, the key matters for discussion were related to the trade and economic sector. In the past months the parties have made headway in some areas, including pharmacy, energy and waste management. The Belarusian-Slovak joint commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation will play a leading role in the implementation of the outlined plans.
