MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Vladimir Oblast are set to intensify cooperation in the energy sector, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
The Belarusian delegation led by Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik is in Vladimir Oblast on a visit from 5 to 8 December. The delegation has comprised heads of Beltopgaz and Belenergo, representatives of the Energy Ministry, the Industry Ministry, and the leading companies-exporters of Belarus.
“The parties will discuss issues related to the intesification of regional cooperation in the energy sector, including the gas and peat industry, and also in the agro-industrial complex, housing and utilities services, construction, infrastructure, import substitution programs. The parties are set to look into the possibility of arranging the supply of road, passenger, and utilities equipment for the needs of the city of Vladimir and other municipal cities in the Russian region, and also expanding cooperation ties,” the press service said.
The program will include a meeting of the working group on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast, a number of meetings and negotiations with the governor of Vladimir Oblast, heads of organizations and companies.
The visit of the Belarusian delegation is taking place as part of the efforts to enhance cooperation with the regions of the Russian Federation. In January-September 2017, Belarus' trade with Vladimir Oblast totaled $157.8 million, up 19% over the same period in 2016.
