MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) - The 11th session of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Rostov Oblast of Russia was held via video conference on 8 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus.
The meeting was chaired by Head of the State Committee for Standardization Valentin Tataritsky on Belarus’ behalf. The delegation included representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Culture Ministry, the Belarusian consumer cooperative society Belcoopsoyuz, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and leading machine-building enterprises.
On Russia’s behalf, the meeting was chaired by Minister of Economic Development of Rostov Oblast Maksim Papushenko. The Russian delegation also comprised representatives of the ministries of culture, industry and energy, agriculture and food, general and professional education, transport, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, others.
The parties emphasized progress in trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Rostov Oblast over the expired period of 2021.
Areas for further work are outlined in the protocol on the development of cooperation between Rostov Oblast and Belarus for 2021-2023. It is a comprehensive document, which includes activities in the foreign economic activity, industry, agriculture and food, architecture and construction, housing and utilities services, public transport, education and culture. The procedures to sign this protocol in absentia are underway.
At the end of the meeting Belarus invited the delegation headed by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev to visit Minsk in April-May 2022.
The working group has been set up in pursuance of the agreement between the Belarusian government and Rostov Oblast administration on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation of 17 April 2002.
