MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast are considering the establishment of a joint venture specializing in road construction, BelTA learned from deputy head of the Lipetsk Oblast administration Andrei Kozoderov before the session of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Lipetsk Oblast. The session involved representatives of interested Belarusian government agencies, enterprises and organizations.
Andrei Kozoderov said: “We’ve seen how roads are built in Belarus. We liked it very much. We may indeed establish a joint venture in order to build roads of the same quality in Lipetsk Oblast.” According to the source, there are about 8,000km of roads in Lipetsk Oblast and the number grows larger every year. A serious effect can be achieved by combining the potential of Belarusian road construction companies and Lipetsk Oblast’s needs.
Apart from that, Lipetsk Oblast is interested in the experience of the Belarusian system of consumer cooperatives Belkoopsoyuz, which purchases all kinds of food and raw materials from individuals. The approach allows rural Belarusians to be slightly richer, noted Andrei Kozoderov.
During the session of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Lipetsk Oblast the sides are expected to discuss progress in fulfilling the action plan on advancing trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation in 2016-2017.
The Lipetsk Oblast delegation is in Belarus on a visit on 3-6 October. Members of the delegation are expected to get familiar with the technologies and experience of building and repairing roads and the organization of procurement operations in Belarus. Besides, the Russian side is interested in buying more Belarusian food and in continuing cooperation in education.
