Belarus, Russia’s Chechnya to develop industrial cooperation

MOSCOW, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Chechnya will develop industrial cooperation. The decision is stipulated in the protocol signed between the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Industry and Energy Ministry of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation in Grozny, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

“I believe the reached agreements have very good prospects,” said Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Korchik as he commented on the document. “In accordance with the agreement to set up an assembly plant, the enterprise Bobruiskagromash has decided on the platforms and the stages of the project. Our plans for the future include the construction of service centers, warehouses for BelAZ, MAZ, tractor spare parts, and implementation of other projects in the field of electrical engineering. Once we have a solid basis in Chechnya, we will be able to develop our cooperation and conduct joint projects,” Dmitry Korchik added.

Chechen Deputy Minister for Economic and Territorial Development and Trade Isa Bisayev noted that all the proposals are given careful consideration. They are expected to grow into joint projects. “Of course, now we are talking about initial contacts. We think that a Chechen delegation led by Ramzan Kadyrov will visit Belarus before summer 2016. The contacts that we have today allow us to believe that Belarusian enterprises are well-known, that they are interested in the localization of manufacturing in Chechnya and development of industrial cooperation, that they have long-term vision,” Isa Bisayev stressed.
