Belarus, Russia to put efforts into removing barriers, exemptions on common market

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have agreed to put efforts into removing barriers and exemptions on the common market, BelTA learned from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko after the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 25 February.

“We agree that today it is necessary to work harder together to take care of matters of economy. We should put as much effort as possible into increasing the mutual trade turnover, reinforcing our manufacturing cooperation ties, forming a unified industrial policy, and removing barriers and exemptions on the common market,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

“I am absolutely convinced that acting in new conditions we will overcome the problems that have really emerged today,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarus President remarked that the session had tabled all the topical matters concerning various aspects of cooperation.

Close attention was paid to results of Belarus-Russia trade and economic cooperation in 2015. Alexander Lukashenko stated that the countries are under the influence of external threats to their economies. “There is no sense in talking about the reasons. All of them are well-known,” said the Belarus President.
