MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia plan to expand cooperation in import substitution in the energy sector, said Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Olga Prudnikova, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

Bilateral cooperation in import substitution is carried out within the framework of the relevant working group with the participation of representatives of the Energy Ministry. “The list of import-substituting products received from the Russian side is currently worked out with the government bodies and organizations of Belarus. A similar list, developed by the Belarusian side, has been submitted to the Russian partners,” Olga Prudnikova said.

The list includes microprocessor devices, power and measuring transformers, gas-insulated circuit breakers and disconnectors, overvoltage limiters, electrical insulators and other products. The Energy Ministry of Belarus is also interested in cooperating with Russian counterparts to develop and implement enterprise resource management and business planning systems (ERP-systems). In addition, some issues of import substitution of the element base used in the digitalization of business processes are considered at the industry level.

“Belarus and Russia are set to strengthen interaction in import substitution, including through the establishment of joint productions for items of mutual interest. It seems advisable to consider the introduction of additional measures to support mutual trade between economic entities of the two countries in the Union State,” the deputy minister said.
